Maryborough
Speedway was the venue for The Raw Sausage Wide Bay
Grand Prix on the 26th and 27th January, the last chance
to race at Maryborough before the Australian Title being
held there over Easter.
After some
qualifying heats, Dennis Bullpitt put his Falcon in
position seven at the start of the B-main.
Bullpitt
made some moves and felt very comfortable in the car
come the B-main. Dennis went high and was running
side-by-side with Dale Grother for a few laps until he
pulled off the outside move and then went around Mark
Ferguson to take the lead. Grother ended up making
his way back into the lead and won, but was later black
flagged for his "elbows-out" pass on Bullpitt. Second
was Rodney Pammenter followed by Gary Maroske and Mark
Ferguson.
Starting
towards the back in the A-main, Dennis only done a few
laps until he retired with a blown gearbox.
Dennis was
extremely happy with the car and is looking forward the
next race meeting at Brisbane Speedway on the 1st March.
