Round
1of the 2007/2008 G&W Racing Modified Production Series lept
into action on Saturday night at Charlton Raceway, and
Dennis Bullpitt was ready to hit the track for the first
time this season.
The first heat saw saw
Dennis start from position 8, which had his work cut out for
him if he was to advance. The track was smooth but had
only one real racing line as it was still greasy.
Dennis displayed an awesome drive, picking off his opponents
one by one, and narrowly avoiding several incidents.
Dennis moved his way into third until an under steer in turn
four saw him make contact with the wall, which caused a lot
of damage to the car, forcing Dennis to retire.
The steering rack, lower
control arm, radius rod, alternator bracket, shockie, bumper
and guard are some components which copped a pounding from
the concrete wall. Many thanks to Len Kennedy, Scott
Davis and Tony Renke for the great work they done to ensure
the car was out there for the second heat.
Dennis started from 7th in
heat two, but finished towards the rear with no power
steering which made it ery hard to steer.
Heat three got slightly
worse as the alternator and power steer belts both come off,
Dennis pulling the car to the infield. Bullpitt put
the car on the trailer as he was unable to repair the car
properly.
An unfortunate mishap
ruined the night for Bullpitt but Team TSS will be back,
possibly next weekend at Brisbane International Speedway,
stay tuned for more news......
