Worling Takes Series Round Victory
Monday January 26, 2009. Lismore Speedway PR

Story from Lismore Speedway - www.lismorespeedway.com.au

Greg Worling took out the third round of the G & W Racing Modified Production Sedan Series at Lismore Speedway on Saturday night (17th January).

Rodney Pammenter filled the runner-up placing while Darren Lester was third.

It was a race of high attrition where only eight cars finished the event and with it went the usual hard luck stories of the encounter.

Toowoomba's Peter Gray looked good early after he started from pole position. He showed a good turn of speed and looked a strong contender in the initial stages before an engine failure sent him to the infield.

Meanwhile Dennis Bullpitt also was impressive setting the quickest lap time of the night and ran strongly in fifth spot before he was sidelined with a broken axle.  Another contender Matt Swarbrooke also fell by the wayside with a flat tyre.

Meanwhile there were some impressive performances in the race.

Pammenter's second placing came after a big drive from starting position 13 and Lester's third followed a herculean effort after he started from the rear of the field.  Lester qualified out of position 3 for the feature race but had developed a flat tyre whilst lining up for the race and was allowed to change the tyre if he started from the rear.

Fourth man home in the event was Mark Ferguson who was followed by New South Wales Champion Steve Price, Mitchell Randell, Garry Maroske and Aiden Raymont the only other finishers.

Dennis Bullpitt qualified well for the final after finishing 3rd, 1st and 5th in his heats.  Dennis was on the pace from the get go after setting the quickest lap time of the night.  After weeks of adjusting, swapping parts and sending the car to the dyno, the gremlin which was limiting the engine's performance has been resolved and Dennis will be looking forward to enjoying the rest of his season and will be gunning for some good results too.

The next meeting for Dennis will be on the 14th February 2009 at Charlton Raceway.
