Bullpitt grabs vital points for 2008/2009
Wednesday October 22, 2008.  Nathan Macdonald

Dennis Bullpitt made a start to his 2008/2009 speedway season with a 5th placing in the A-main at Brisbane International Speedway on Saturday night the 18th October 2008, which was also the first round of the GW Racing Series.  Bullpitt struggled all night with a bad misfire in the engine which made the car difficult to drive, not allowing him maximum horsepower.  After checking and swapping parts during the heats the problem could not be isolated, so Dennis made the most of what he had.

Starting from 6th place in heat one, Bullpitt was able to gain two positions to finish 4th.  Dennis missed the second heat after the car would not start.  Later discovering a power wire for the coil on the engine had come adrift.

Rolling out for heat three, Bullpitt credited with 6th place while still struggling with an engine misfire.

Qualifying in 14th position for the final, Dennis knew all he had to do was finish to bag some valuable points for the series.  Staying out of trouble and showing some clean racing, Dennis was able to keep up with lead group after many cars pulled out due to rough track conditions and finish in 5th place.

Dennis will be racing the entire 2008/2009 GW Racing Modified Production Series, which means his next race will be at Mothar Mountain Speedway in Gympie on the 15th November.
