No start for Bullpitt at Australian Title
Tuesday March 25, 2008.  Nathan Macdonald

Bad Misfortune fell upon Dennis Bullpitt on Thursday night for the Unofficial practice held at Maryborough Speedway for the 2007/2008 Modified Production Australian Title.  After one run it was found that the flywheel had come loose on the engine, putting Dennis out for the night.  The gearbox and flywheel was removed the next day and repaired, and after setting some quick lap times at the circuit on Friday night for the official practice, the car was being put on the trailer when the flywheel was found to have come loose once again.  Rather than risking any more damage, Dennis unfortunately never made it to compete in his first Australian Title for Modified Production.

Fellow Toowoomba Steering Service sponsored cars of Robert Trapp (VX Commodore) and Shane Macdonald (VS Commodore) faired very well, with Trapp finishing a well deserved 6th place in the feature race while Macdonald was up to 5th place until two laps to go his engine shut down.  Both Macdonald and Trapp qualified 15th and 16th respectively in the A-main out of a total of over 80 cars.  Rodney Pammenter was also going well in his heats until an engine failure forced him to retire for the weekend.
